1.     1.    In Chapter 4 of Blur, different types of reporting were mentioned, including new-paradigm reporting.  Can you think of a change of lifestyle or habit that has changed in your own life or between generations in your family due to this kind of reporting?

2.       2.   Compare and contrast straight news to sense-making news.  Is there a time when straight news is more appropriate than sense-making news?  What should political news be?

3.       3Chapter five focused on sources in the media.  Do you ever question sources in the news?  If so, what is a reason you would have for questioning a source in an article or news story?

4.       4. Can you think of a current buzzword that has been floating around recently? How is it obvious that it has been manipulated for public reaction?
